Our Approach:
Drs. Brian and Jenn believe in the wellness lifestyle of chiropractic. Of course, pain management is addressed in those who need it, but at Peak Performance Chiropractic and Wellness Center, the goal is to facilitate the body in healing and its ability to achieve peak performance. This is accomplished through wellness care.
The main difference between wellness care and standard medical care is that wellness care seeks to turn on the natural healing ability of the body. Wellness care is not accomplished by adding foreign substances to the system; instead it focuses on removing anything that interferes with normal function. The human body is an amazing thing. It is built to heal and self-preserve. Wellness care relies on the body’s ability to inherently know what to do and how to heal when irritation is removed and nothing is interfering with proper nervous system flow. In comparison, standard medical care seeks to treat a symptom by adding something from the outside – a medication, a surgery or procedure.
Wellness is a state of optimal conditions and normal function. The wellness approach is to look for underlying causes of any disturbance or disruption (which may or may not be causing symptoms at the time) and make whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments necessary to optimize the conditions for normal function. This encourages natural healing, and minimizes the need for invasive treatment, which should be administered only when absolutely necessary. A healthy nervous system allows the body to heal effectively, no matter what the condition. When the body heals well and maintains itself well, then there is another level of health that goes beyond “asymptomatic” or “pain-free”. This level of health allows an open-ended opportunity for vitality, vibrant health, and an enhanced experience of life. This is true for mental and emotional health as well as physical health. At Peak Performance Chiropractic, the doctor’s goal is to help you, your mind, and your body to reach optimal health.

These include general relaxation of the body, improved circulation and blood flow, relaxation of muscles, alleviation of some types of muscular pain, decreased anxiety, relief of the negative effects of stress, and improvement in the nutrition to your cells. Massage compliments your chiropractic care to stimulate the body’s natural healing process and provide you with a more complete and effective health care system. Massage treats the soft tissues such as muscles and tendons, which can help maintain your chiropractic adjustment and prevent subluxation from returning.
